This was the first time that the Inter Church Youth in Port Vila ever organized a training of such a scope and length. But God was good, in that He brought together the experience and skills of pastor Serah Cakau and the mother from the Women of the Hour to make this event a successful one.
The venues went from Janet's home at Stade, to Dumbea Hall, to Sarabetu and even Pastor Don's small church at the Esqual. Double sessions took place every day - the first sessions took place from 8am to 12pm; the night sessions took place from 7pm to 10pm. Youth were excited about this training from day one. Word went out by mouth, and the sessions after that were packed. Some had to take leave off work to be part of the day sessions.
Pastor Alacky came with his team from the Reigning Impact Ministries: four youth and Mrs Alacky and son Bradley. Two girls from the RIM team - June One and June Two, taught our young people new dances and drama. Mrs Alacky taught on prophetic Praise and Worship.
Those who came only for the night sessions were not going to be left behind, for they too were catching up very fast with the teachings and even getting their own break through in some area of their Christian life. In fact, God was deliberately at work, equalizing everything.
On the Friday of the second week, a big graduation ceremony was put on at the Dumbea Hall, with the presence of the Malvatumauri, the Port Vila Municipality and senior pastors from various churches. Sixty nine graduants, in full graduation gowns of blue, marched into the auditorium to receive their certificates from the Chairman of the Malvatumauri.
The certificates signified something more powerful than the white papers they held: they represent hearts and minds, and to use the language of the reformers, the very fabric and internal structures, that had been reformed, reconfigured, and realigned to the true purposes and intends of God. A NEW SPIRITUAL GENERATION HAD BEEN BORN!
