At about 6:30pm on Friday the 11th of February 2005, 15 young die-hard people boarded a big 'kamiong' at Au Bon Marche Manples for Takara Landing in North East Efate. Led by Leitangi Matai, a young girl from the Emau, the team arrived at Takara Landing at about 7:30pm. At Takara Landing there was no boat waiting to take them across to Emau, so they had to sleep on the beach, some praying, until the next morning.
At about 5:30am, their boat finally arrived and they crossed the sea to Emau island, arriving at Mangarogo village. Chief Dales was there to meet them, but they were surprised at the same time. At 10am, they had a service with the village, with testimonies and skits and dances coming from the young people. They then had one-to-one discussions with the young people of Mangarongo village before having lunch at about 2pm.
At 3pm, the team went to the village of Marou and did some skits and dances and shared testimonies. Then they prayer-walked the village in preparation for the evening's crusade. During the night crusade, God's presence was so strong as the young people presented some skits, and dances and Seima Mansale from Mele shared a very powerful and challenging message. People responded during alter call, and the young people helped in praying for the respondents. The team had dinner at about 10pm with chief Georges. They left the village at about midnight for Mangarogo and arrived there at 2pm. They did some more prayers before retiring to bed at about 3:30am.
The team were up again at 5:30am Sunday morning for morning devotion. While waiting for the combined service at 10am, some members of the team went to visit three widows and offered prayers.
The combined service included the three villages of Mangarogo, Marou and Mapoa. Patrick Aru was MC at the service, while a double sermon came from Roger Maurice and Domnigo Sablang. Three youth leaders, Seth Alick, Kalsau Adams and Jeffery rededicated their lives to Jesus and asked for prayers. Some members of the three villages also gave their lives to Jesus during the alter call.
Lunck of Kumala and fish was served at about 3:30pm. During lunch, the young people did some more dances. They then left Mangarogo village for Marou village to catch the boat back to Takara Landing. At Marou, the team were requested to pray for a paralysed man. So after offering prays and sharing the word of God with the man, they left the island and arrived at Takara Landing at about 6pm.
Emau island was changed, with this surprise visitation of God, through these young people. Life has been imparted, because of the presence of the Man of Life, Jesus, in these young people. |
