For us in Vanuatu, and especially for the team of young people who went, this was a follow-up of a two-week seminar of the same held here in Vanuatu just two months earlier. The focus of the teachings were based on the Apostolic Reformation of the 21st Century Church.
More young people would have attended this convocation, but because of financial constrain, it was decided to sent only those who in leadership position - and these four were chosen: Jack (president), Fred (vice president), Janet (executive member), and Rina (executive member).
The team spend almost one week in Honiara, attending the teachings during the day and night. Ps Josiah Qalovaki, of Fijian origin but resides in New Zealand, was the main speaker during the sessions. Two other young people from New Zealand, Josephine and Benjamin, also helped Josiah during some of teachings. It was an intensive week, as there was much to cover in a short time, and the language used was new to many of us. Everyone was asked to just listen and try to understand what was being presented, because there were going to be hand-outs of the same notes at the end of each sessions.
Much of the teachings were taken from a book by Dr Noel Woodroffe titled "The Present Reformation of the Church". This book was on sale during the convocation for anyone who was interested to buy and read. In fact people were encourage to make an effort to buy a copy. Topics covered included: 1) Vision development (mainly for leaders) 2) The dynamics of being sent 3) Migration of the Church 4) Apostolic reformation of the Church 5) Breakthrough spirit 6) The life of king Solomon and the Apostolic spirit 7) Reformation foundation 8) Executing Godly principles in a business world 9) The benefits of the Apostolic ministry 10) Foundations of the Apostolic spirit 11) Apostolic grace, and 12) Apostolic network
